On March 16-19 the Surrey Knights brought 6 of their top swimmers to Calgary for the Western Canadian Championships meet. The meet highlighted the first National events for younger swimmers Preston S, Raneem H and Joshua P. Additionally, Yolanda Z, Rachel T and Natalie W made the trip to Calgary to represent the Knights. Some highlights included Yolanda coming 5th in the Women 16&over 50 Freestyle, as well as 8th place finishes in both the 100 and 200 Free. Rachel also placed in the top 8 with a 5th finish in the Women’s 1500 Free and 8th in the 400 Free. Lastly, the team of Yolanda, Rachel, Natalie and Raneem placed 8th in the 4x100FR relay.
