Provincials Recap

 

Led by Peter H and Josh K the Knights managed an 11th place finish at the winter version of the Swim BC Provincial Championships. The defending champ Knights brought a much smaller team to this year’s event in Victoria and had some bad luck with illnesses, but the team still brought home lots of hardware, set 3 new club records and some new qualifiers over the course of the weekend.

 

Josh K set new club records in the 11-12 Long Course 100BR and 200BR.  This leaves only the 50BR and 200Fl as long course 11-12 boys club records that weren't broken over within the past two seasons!  Yolanda Z also took down the 15&O Girls Long Course 50Fl record.

 

Yolanda Z wasn't done, earning both her USports and her Canadian Junior Championship cuts in the 50FR and 100FR. Joshua P earned his Black cap, qualifying for Western Nationals in the 400FR and 1500FR.

 

Josh K earned Gold in the 50 and 200 meter breaststroke, as well as a silver in the 100 breast. Peter earned two silvers in the 100 and 200 butterfly. Other Knights medalists included Yolanda Z (1st 200 Free, 2nd 50 Free, 100 Free), Raneem H (3rd 200 Back), Lucas K (2nd 400 IM and 200 Breast and 3rd 200 IM), Rachel T (1st 800 Free 3rd 400 Free).
